What is a Sukuk?
A Sukuk is often called a Shari'ah-compliant bond. Unlike a conventional bond, which represents a debt obligation, a Sukuk represents an ownership interest in a pool of assets. The returns are generated from the profits of these underlying assets, not from interest (riba), which is prohibited under Islamic law.

Asset-Backed: Our notes are backed by tangible, real assets within the agricultural value chain, a core requirement for Shari'ah compliance.

Ethical Screening: All transactions are thoroughly assessed to ensure they are ethical and promote societal and environmental benefits. We prohibit investments in activities involving unethical profits, speculative risk, or haram (prohibited) goods.

Independent Certification: The Agrarius Note Programme has been certified as Shari'ah compliant by the 27four Shari'ah Advisory Committee.

Structure: We use a Sukuk al-Wakala structure, where Agrarius acts as an agent (wakeel) to invest funds on behalf of the principal (investor) into a portfolio of Shari'ah-compliant assets.
