What types of agricultural businesses do you finance?
We finance a wide range of agribusinesses including crop and livestock commercial farms, processors, distributors, agritech startups, co-operatives and input suppliers. Whether you grow crops, raise animals or provide services in the agricultural value chain - we can help.
Do you finance startups or new farms?
While we admire the drive of new farmers and agri-entrepreneurs, our current funding criteria require a minimum of three years of trading history and revenue records. This helps us ensure we can assess the business performance and sustainability before extending credit.
Do I need to provide collateral?
Collateral requirements depend on the loan size and risk. Smaller loans may only need personal or business guarantees, while larger loans might require land, equipment, or produce as collateral.
What if I have poor credit or past debt?
We assess each application on a case-by-case basis. If you have poor credit, but strong business fundamentals, we may still be able to help with tailored terms.
Where do you operate?
We serve clients across South Africa, including remote and rural areas. We also support farmers in neighboring countries on a case-by-case basis.
Do you fund individuals or only registered companies?
We primarily finance registered businesses, co-operatives, and trusts. In some cases, we may consider individual farmers with formal land use rights and sufficient documentation.
Do I need to meet a minimum revenue requirement to qualify?
Our funding is currently available to farms and agribusinesses with annual revenues of R5 million or more. This allows us to provide financing tailored to established and growing operations and manage the risk for our investors.
Do you fund agro-processing businesses?
Yes. We finance agro-processors including packhouses, food and beverage manufacturers, cold chains, and value-add agri-products.
